ter heater repair needs!

Some of the most common water heater repairs we make do not involve a leaking water heater. If your water heater is not leaking, but you a run out of hot water sooner than you used to this could be due to one of several common problems that a licensed plumber from Atlanta Plumbing Plus can repair for you:
- The dip tube in your tank may have broken off. The dip tube carries the cold water which enters the heater down to the bottom of the tank, while you draw hot water from the top of the tank. When the dip tube breaks, the cold water enters the top of the tank and mixes with the hot water, which cools the hot water down.
- If your water heater is electric, one of the elements that heats up the water may not be operating properly, or one of the two thermostats may not be working. An Atlanta Plumbing Plus plumber can tell you whether a bad heating element or a bad thermostat is causing the problem and can replace the appropriate part.
- If your water heater is gas, the thermocouple or the burner assembly might have gone bad. We can replace these parts, and save you the cost of replacing the water heater.

If you still have plenty of hot water, but the water heater is starting to leak call us immediately. A licensed and experienced Atlanta Plumbing Plus plumber can determine where the leak is coming from and can make the appropriate recommendation to repair or replace the water heater.
While you are waiting for our plumber to arrive you can prevent more damage to your home by draining the water out of the leaking water heater. To do this, shut the gas or electricity off. Then, shut the water off using the valve on the top of the heater. Finally, drain the remaining water out of the tank by attaching a hose to the drain line at the bottom of the tank. But, REMEMBER, this water could be VERY HOT. Be careful. And, if you have difficulty shutting the water off and draining the tank call Us at 770-447-0374. Someone from our office can stay on the phone with you and walk you through the process. It is all part of our friendly customer service.
If the water heater is leaking from one of the many fittings, we can usually repair it. Unfortunately, once a water heater starts to leak from the tank itself, it cannot be repaired and must be replaced. Also, if the water heater is very old, it simply may not be cost-effective to repair it.
If we find that your water heater cannot be repaired or does not meet your current needs, we will take the time to recommend the safest, most practical, and most cost-effective new water heater solution for you.
