Fire Suppressing Sprinkler Systems

Although Fire Suppressing Sprinkler Systems are comprised of water lines and sprinkler heads, they are not currently considered a part of your plumbing system that a Licensed Plumber would work on.
That may change in the next year few years. A nationwide law will go into effect January 1, 2013 requiring that fire suppressing sprinkler systems be installed in all new homes when they are built. In the last state legislative session, the Georgia legislature passed a law that fire suppression systems are not needed in Georgia homes, so the law will not be enforced in Georgia.
Still, many builders of more high-end new homes are already starting to install Fire Suppressing Sprinklers Systems in the homes they are building and leaks on the lines to these systems are possible, just as they are possible on other water lines in the home.
Currently, the law requires certified sprinkler technicians to work on these systems, not Licensed Plumbers; but, that law may change soon. If it does change, Atlanta Plumbing Plus will be ready. We will ensure that all of our plumbers are trained and certified in sprinkler system installation and maintenance well in advance of any change in the law.
