One of the best ways to judge a water heater is by its Energy Factor (EF), a number which is calculated based on a mandatory evaluation done on all water heaters. The energy factor indicates a water heater’s overall energy efficiency based on the amount of hot water produced per unit of fuel consumed over a typical day. The higher the energy factor, the more efficient the water heater will be. Of course, there are other things to consider such as the cost to purchase and install the water heater and the size of the water heater required to meet your family’s needs. For example, a 40 gallon water heater will serve a typical 3 bedroom 2.5 bathroom home; but, a larger home will need at least a 50 gallon water heater or even larger. We will work with you to select the right water heater for your needs based on all of the following eight criterion:

Regardless of which type of water heater you choose, if your home is the “two stories on a basement” typically built in Atlanta, you might also need a Recirculating Pump to bring water quickly and cost-effectively to the faucets at the farthest point of your home, so don’t forget to ask our plumber about those too.
