Dryers

Most people don’t think of a clothes dryer as having plumbing problems, but there are two types of dryers that frequently need the attention of a plumber. They are:

Plumbers are responsible for the installation and maintenance of the gas lines and water lines for these two types of dryers. We also connect these appliances for our customers when the delivery company refuses to do so for saftey reasons. You can read more about the services we offer below.

Gas Dryers

Dryer

The popularity of gas and electric dryers seems to change with the seasons. Sometimes we are called to a home to cap off the gas line when a customer switches to an electric dryer. Other times, the call is from a customer wanting us to install a gas line for a new gas dryer. Our plumbers are here to please and will do either job, willingly and – most of all – safely.

If you do have a gas dryer, you should check the gas connections regularly to make sure they are tight and not leaking. As with any gas appliance or gas line, if you smell gas near your dryer, turn off the gas – or better yet leave the home and get the gas company to turn the gas off for you. Then call Atlanta Plumbing Plus at 770-447-0374 to locate the leak and repair it for you. We can make your home safe again in no time.

And, with any dryer – gas or electric – make sure the dryer vent is not obstructed with lint because this can cause the dryer to overheat and create a fire hazard.

Visit our page on Gas Lines and Fixtures for more information on gas lines, and other gas appliances.

Steam Dryers

Washer Dryer

Steam Dryers are a relatively new product on the market. The steam is used to sanitize clothes and remove wrinkles. A water line must be connected to this type of dryer. Although the appliance delivery people usually hook-up appliances at the time of delivery, many of our customers ask us to hook up the steam dryer water line to ensure that it is installed correctly and will not leak. As with any water line, you should check the water supply lines periodically to ensure that they are not leaking, and call Atlanta Plumbing Plus at 770-447-0374 as soon as you suspect a leak.
